The Heart of America region of USA Volleyball covers the western half of Missouri and all of Kansas.

Brief Details About Becoming a HOA Official

Requirements
  • Pass a USAV Background Screen
  • Complete Safesport Course
  • Complete Online Officiating Courses
  • Attend Introductory Zoom Meeting
  • Attend & Pass an In-Person Rating Event
Compensation & Uniforms
  • New officials start at $32/match
  • Officials wear white, cyan, or grey Certified Volleyball Official polos
  • Officials wear navy slacks
  • Officials wear white shoes & socks
Tournament Day
  • Matches are either 2 sets to 25, best of 3 to 25 with the third to 15, or 3 sets to 25 (unusual pool of three)
  • Expected arrival: 7:15am
  • Typical Saturday play is from 8am until 6-7pm, Sunday play is from 8am until 4-5pm
  • Expect to work 6-8 matches on a Saturday and 4-6 matches on a Sunday
