HOA Elections

Every year at the May HOA Board Meeting elections are held. If you have an interest in becoming a HOA Board member or a member of the HOA Advisory Committee Please contact the HOA office by March 25, 2010. There is information about duties and qualifications in the HOA Bylaws (Art. XIV, Sec. 4), posted on hoavb.org.
All positions have a term of two years, except the member representative who is elected annually.

Gold Heart Challenge Cup Schedules

The playing schedules for the Gold Heart Challenge Cup on March 13 & 14 are now available. Go to the tournament calendar, find the event and click on your division to find the first round schedule. Or, go under "Juniors" to "Tournament" and select "Gold Heart" for links to download the full playing schedules in pdf format.
Facility rules

Tournament directors do not have to accept teams or clubs into their tournaments. If teams do not obey the facility or staff rules, they can be refused entry into tournaments or be thrown out. Several teams now have been banned from tournaments because food was brought into facilities where this is not allowed.
Problem with phones

The phone services at the HOA office are currently interrupted. Our provider is trying to correct the problem. Until resolved, we can only be reached by email.
Silver Heart Challenge

The Silver Heart Challenge is still on for Sunday. The roads are slushy so be careful
New Record Registration

Last year HOA past 10,000 members for the first time. This year we now have more than 11,000 members. Congratulations and thanks!
Openings in Gold Heart

We have one opening in the 12's division in the Gold Heart Challenge Cup. Teams interested in playing can contact the HOA office. As we are now past the deadline of registration, teams withdrawing from this event will no longer get a refund on their entry fee.
HOA website will be down Thursday night

Because of maintenance on the HOA website, we will be down for sometime on Thursday evening, February 11th between 9 pm and 3 am on Friday.
Tournament problems

We have been receiving reports from tournament directors about problems at events. One tournament director got fined $350 by the facility because of the mess that teams left behind. Players, coaches and parents need to follow the directions of tournament directors or follow signs in facilities.
If we continue to treat facilities the way we do, we will loose them, or tournament fees will drastically increase. THIS IS NOT NECESSARY IF WE ALL COOPERATE! Follow directions, instruct parents to do so. Stay out of areas that are marked as of-limits and keep outside food outside. Don't use parking lots as public trash cans.
In essence; use common sense and don't make the sport pay!
WBB Tournament Saturday Feb. 13

We have added a Women's BB division for the adult tournament at the HOA facility on Saturday, February 13. Registration process as usual.
