Road Construction Alert

The HOA facility is near a major construction zone which may cause some detours for people coming and leaving HOA.
This construction may last for another year. The latest change is for those exiting from I-70, you can't turn Right on Kansas Avenue - continue 1 block then turn Right and then turn Right again and left onto Kansas.

Hot Winter AVP Nite at Sprint Center!

The AVP Hot Winter Nights Pro Beach Volleyball will be back at the Sprint Center on January 23, 2009. We have been informed that Phil Dalhausser and Casey Jennings will lead the men and Elaine Youngs & Angie Akers will headline the women.

Libero Uniform

Libero can NOT serve

All coaches, be aware. Under USA Volleyball rules, the Libero is NOT allowed to Serve! This is also highly unlikely to change in the near future.
10 and under volleyball

Last year we successfully introduced a new format for 10 and under volleyball. Several clubs participated and we hope to expand the 10 and under and 8 and under divisions. Click here for the information packet on how to run a U10 program. Feel free to contact the HOA office with your questions if you are thinking of starting a 10 and under program.
"Blem" balls are back

Looking for a good leather practice ball at the price of a composite? Here is a good opportunity. We have a number of Tachikara all leather blem balls again. These balls are all white and cost only $30 a piece.
We also have a smaller number of the SV5WM leather ball (lower grade ball than the SV5W Gold) available in Red, White & Royal Blue for only $25 a piece.
Both of these balls will make a great practice ball at a reduced price. Contact the HOA office if you are interested in those balls. They will go pretty quick.
New membership for 10 and under

In order to grow youth volleyball (10 and under), USA Volleyball has made an inexpensive membership available for all players who were born on or after September 1, 1997. The HOA membership fee for this age group will be $15 per player. On the membership form, this category will be marked as "Other Youth" member.
HOA is pushing forward with a plan to implement 4-on-4 10 and under competition on a small court. The young players get a lot more ball contacts on the small court than they get playing 6-on-6 on the full size court. This helps the development of the players and the game. Any clubs interested in developing a 10-and-under program, please contact the HOA office.
Over-zealous Parents

We all know them. The parents that sometimes need to reflect on their own behavior. Here are some great downloadable videos from the Canadian Hockey Association which put some things in perspective. Feel free to use those videos at parents meetings etc.
